The Arts Component
During the exhibition sharing session on April 23rd and 24th you will be presenting what you have learned and how you have learned to visitors. You will be given an area of the Centre of the Arts in which to create your ‘exhibition’. The way you share is largely up to you; we hope you will be creative and think outside of the box. Other pages of the Exhibition website provide guidelines about what this ‘presentation’ or ‘exhibition’ must include. Some of this is prescribed by the IB
Your final exhibition must include one or more of The Arts: Drama, Music, Art and/or Media Arts. Your group must use the arts to express something important that you have learned about your issue. This will happen in your small exhibition space (not on stage) and can be live or pre-recorded and displayed digitally.
Your group must decide which will be the main art form you agree to use: Drama, Music, Art and/or Media Arts. Your Grade 5 teachers will help you make this choice. You will be asked as a group to select a first and second choice. Once you know your art form, you will be assigned an Arts teacher as a helper. This teacher will help you get resources and give you some tips.
From April 1st you will begin working with your group in your Arts teacher’s room during ICE Block. You will have just five double lesson sessions to prepare your arts component: maybe a song, some music, a dance, a drama, a sculpture a video or something else amazing. You will create the very best artistic product or performance that you can. It should be really impressive!
